FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

The practical answers most trade customers need before requesting equipment.

1300 868 978
Do I need an ABN?

Yes. HITCH provides trade-only dry hire, so a valid ABN is required.

Can private customers hire?

No. HITCH equipment hire is available to trade customers with a valid ABN.

Do I need a licence?

It depends on the machine, the work and the site. You must provide a competent operator. We confirm any licence or site-ticket requirement before the hire is Locked In.

What insurance is required?

Insurance requirements are checked for each hire and depend on the equipment, job and customer account. We will tell you what evidence is required before payment and handover.

Can attachments be hired separately?

Yes. Attachments can be hired without a HITCH machine when compatibility is confirmed. Have the machine class, pin size, hitch type and hydraulic flow ready.

What happens if the machine breaks down?

Stop using the equipment safely and call HITCH. Do not arrange repairs yourself. We will assess the issue and organise the practical next step.

How do I extend or end the hire?

Call HITCH before the agreed off-hire time. An extension only applies once HITCH has checked availability and Locked In the revised end time. Off-hire is not complete until HITCH acknowledges it.

What is the cancellation policy?

Call HITCH as early as possible. We will confirm any applicable cancellation or committed transport charges for that hire.
